The Cater Investment Group was incorporated in 2018 as a growth equity firm focused on bridging the gap between the U.S. market and international innovation. We directly invest in businesses with strong operators and great ideas seeking opportunities to scale.
Since our founding, we have augmented our capabilities with a full-scaled consulting practice that adds value to portfolio companies and advisory clients. Alex Cater
Lead Consultant and Principal
Alex is the lead at CIG and the finance and operations functions of its advisory function (CAG). Prior to CIG, Alex led M&A and strategic initiatives for Samsung in South Korea.
Alex possesses an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BBA from the Ross School of Business at University of Michigan.
Tamra Pierce
Principal
Tamra is a general partner of CIG and leads the Technology function of its advisory practice. She is a systems engineer with significant experience in pharmaceutical firms.
She possesses a PhD in Systems Engineering from George Washington University and a BS of Biomedical and Mechanic Engineering from the University of Miami
Kevin Martin
Organizational Management Lead
Kevin has decades of experience implementing change management initiatives. His work spans across both private and public entities in HR policy and stakeholder engagement.

Sam Johnson
Senior Associate & Venture Partner
Sam leads real estate and real estate services due diligence and analysis. He leads Cater Property Management and investment analysis for new ventures.
He possesses a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Kettering University.
Megan Harrison
Associate
Megan provides strategic insights and analysis to the team. Her expertise is in risk and compliance management and client services.
She possesses a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of South Africa and an Associate Degree in Marketing from the University of Johannesburg.
Augustus Afuewelu
Communications Strategist
Augustus spearheads intellectual capital and stakeholder publications for CIG. His background includes extensive work in multimedia journalismand brand communication.
He possesses a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Nnamdi Azikiwe University - Awka.
Isiah Nuwagaba
Associate
Isiah specializes in investment analysis and deal sourcing for CIG and CAG. A trained investment banker, Isiah provides quantitative valuations and risk assessments.
Isiah possesses a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University and possesses a Certified Banking Certification
Velecia Pierce-Harmon
Administrative Officer
Velecia leads operations activities for CIG internal activities across its office locations and and leads provisioning of its internal systems and portfolio firms.
